The leading catalan coworking startup in Barcelona has reached in just 2 years more than 14.000 sqm of office volume space.
The consulting firm Forcadell has advised Attico in the rental of a 2.200 sqm offices located in the old PDeCAT headquarters, in Provenza Street. These offices position Attico as the largest coworking operator in the Barcelona market. It is the second time that the startup founded by Gabriel Espín, Franz Pallarés and Juan Carlos Morales trusts the office department of Forcadell to continue spending their brand in the Catalan Capital.
The building was recently bought by the investment fund Summit Venture Partners, which has decided to maintain the type of use for offices and rent the entire surface to Attico. The coworking operator expects to open the 2.200 sqm of offices distributed in 7 floors in April 2019, and has reached an agreement with Forcadell for brokerage exclusivity of the building. Aligned with the MED building located in the 22@ district, the group will provide the new offices a swimming pool and a gym. The new building is equipped with two terraces, garden and parking spaces.
According to Gabriel Espín, co-founder and CEO of Attico “in these 2 years, Attico has experienced a fast-paced growth that highlights the success of this format of working spaces. An increasing number companies are opting for the flexibility and together with the multiple services that coworking offers, for large companies as well as for smaller ones.” The startup affirms it is looking for new locations in Barcelona for the upcoming year 2019.
The coworking operator has recently opened part of the MED building, located in the Passeig de Faria facing the Llevant and Mar Bella beaches. Attico acquired these facilities with Forcadell’s advise earlier this year. The building, with a 3.500 sqm space, has coworking areas and private offices, meeting rooms, cafeterias, kitchen, parking spaces, terrace, swimming pool, and gym.
According to Manel de Bes, director of the Office Department of Forcadell (URL) “coworking is experiencing a process of professionalization and expansion in Europe and more specifically here in Barcelona. Coworking operators like Attico are opting for large scale projects regarding space as well as facilities, where the well-being of workers is an added value.”
Attico is a Catalan company that was founded in 2016, and started its activity with almost 1.000 sqm of coworking space in the centre of Barcelona, in the Ronda de Sant Pere, 52. Just two years later the startup has reached a volume of 14.000 sqm, a fact that positions them as leaders in the coworking sector in Barcelona. The company's growth strategy is contemplating expanding the brand to other cities in Spain and Europe.
